A quick walk through the backyard this afternoon. Temps were in the mid 70’s here by Lake Michigan – simply a perfect Michigan spring day.
Marc is working on his boats. He’s been fishing for and catching lots of pan fish on lower Herring Lake
Maybe this year the Wayfarer boat might also get a work out this year
The duck boat! It’s not duck season but a boy always has fun working on his gear 😉
See the shower back there? It’s going to be great for those guest who want to get the sand of their legs after coming back from the beach
The apple trees. This year there are going to be blossoms…

Abidiabidiabiddi, th-th-th-that’s all, folks (for today)
Now don’t think that I forgot all about you. I haven’t.
But I have been busy doing nothing.
Well, not nothing. I have been brainstorming with myself about what to
tackle first in the cottages as soon as the snow is on its way out of here.
Mike quit his job in order to be here and work on making the cottages beautiful.
We are both very excited about that.
Do I hear a
Right now, a huge snow storm is on its way across Lake Michigan.
Time to get back to my comfy chair,
put another log on the fire,
enjoy some *Russian (hot) Chocolate* and my kindle – yay
There is nothing better than snow on the ground and more snow falling from the sky.
True? – Opinions please.
See ya in a couple of days
Recipe for Russian Chocolate:
Hot chocolate, shot of dark rum, top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings – enjoy!
A few weeks ago we had guests who were into bicycling. They had bikes for every circumstance. Just look at these.
Here Lisa and Matt are on their way to Arcadia, having started from Elberta Beach
That would be a 13 mile bike ride along the Lake Michigan shoreline !
(If you click on each picture twice, a really large picture reveals itself…)
Lisa, taking a break, sitting in the outlet
The “outlet” – Lower Herring Lake into Lake Michigan
And back up north to Wayfarer Lodgings
Tim Allen should be talking about this in one of his Pure Michigan commercials.
Does this not look like fun?
Pictures today of Lake Michigan “behaving” a little more active than it has been in the last few weeks
As usual, at the end of Grace Road.
and right. With a good view of the Frankfort Lighthouse
Someone had a nice fire last night
That’s Tina Noffsinger waving. She was on her way to Frankfort – it’s the annual Twilight Sale in town.
Great deals to be had all over the place including at Hull’s Clothing
And then I went home and made my dinner
Tomato, Eggplant and Brussels Sprouts with a little lemon juice and salt to taste. Yummmers
Those stairs are getting longer and longer. I could not help taking some pictures for you today because Lake Michigan was very active today.
Click on the small pictures 😉
Today the weather could not have been better. Here at the Wayfarer, we had a nice, cool breeze off Lake Michigan. Temperatures were in the low 80’s purrrfect!
Being involved in a covert operation for an event this week, (no I cannot tell you what this was about or I’ll have to shoot you) I had to go into town and took the opportunity to bring back some pictures of what’s going on in Frankfort during the holiday week. I also have pictures of the clouds at sunset.
The carnival is in town. It looks pretty and colorful. They have “put down stakes” across the street from the Bayview Grille. It smelled like cotton candy and popcorn.
Loading the Ferris Wheel
not much going on yet, the rides just opened this afternoon…
I was on the way home, crossing the bridge across Betsie Bay, when I saw the beautiful sky.
But first a picture of the train that’s located in the park in Elberta, where the Thursday market is held.
They painted the train – it looks wonderful

Looking toward Frankfort
Once again it is time to show some of the flowers. I am somewhat disappointed with my inability 😯 to take beautiful pictures and to learn to take better pictures.
Some of these are rather washed out, because the sun is so bright today. In your mind’s eye, please envision these with vibrant colors 😆
Hmmm, this one is still deciding whether it wants to look good or just hang out and make no effort.
also not quite filled in yet are the little pots on cottages 1 through 6 (but getting there nicely)
The sink in front of # 1. There’s some Thyme in there as well as Lavender and other assorted orphans…
The sink is kind of a catch-all this year. Ummm, did I say that last year as well?
Now comes the box by cottage 9
This box is always my favorite. The moss grew so nicely all around the outside of it.
I have planted mint, sage, pansies and nasturtiums in there for a salad and a drink 😆
Looks like a hot mess but really isn’t – the box on cottage 2
Cottage 8 – rosemary, sage, parsley – no thyme …
I can’t get enough, I want you to see each and every leaf, hehe
Is it 5 o’clock yet?
Cottage 7. Hmmmm, cilantro – not doing well in any of the boxes…
Another brilliant day today. The guests are out and on the beach and some brought their boat and are going fishing in Lake Michigan tonight
