It is so dry and hot this summer, my flower boxes, even with the help of twice daily watering, are having a tough time making me happy. So today, for the first time this season, I bought Miracle Grow 😯
My plan was to keep my flowers fed with the help of a daily dose of coffee grounds. That actually works very well but now my flowers are pooped.
Long story short, I went into Frankfort to the Hardware store on Main Street and got the stuff. One never goes into Frankfort without making the loop at the end of Main Street.
The beach was deserted this morning at 9:30. Some birds were at the water’s edge and there were 2 guys playing with their paddle boards
Grey vs. green and shady
The beach is only about 600 yards away and the stairs are really almost done. Yay
“It shall snow, still, a little while longer” – he said. And so it was.
Feast your eyes on pictures from the frozen north:
At 4 pm I was to be at Hull’s on Main Street in Frankfort for a fundraiser. It was fairly warm and the snow came down like tomorrow is Christmas. Very, very wet snow.
The car parked next to mine, brrrrrrrr
The Frankfort beach
The lighthouse is located just to the right of the light pole. I could not make it out.
I think I know why this is all happening…
I have neglected to take down my sign.
I think I speak for all of us when I say ” good riddens” to the white stuff.
The last few days have been so beautiful and sunny. The snow has been steadily melting. It is still very crisp and cold but that’s alright with me. As long as that sun shines and takes with it the last of the snow, I am a happy camper 🙂
I spotted the big ship on the horizon - beautiful
Frankfort beach and pier - almost all the snow is gone

Yes, I have heard from the weatherman today. He says that there will be 1 to 2 inches of snow this Friday, blahhhhhh 😦
…have been mothballed again. 42 degree weather was a fluke. Just look at the snow we got 2 days ago
As usual, don’t forget to click on the pictures once or twice to see all the details!
A lonely bench waiting for the first warm butt 🙂

So much snow in one day, when we were all thinking of planting bulbs…
There you have it.
I think I heard the weatherman say that there’s more snow coming today, blah.
This was a day for hot chocolate (with rum) and comfort foods – not that it’s cold. The winds are howling, blowing, sending rain. A lot of rain.

I love fall, most of you know that. This is a very welcome event, as today the first, big storm of the season started. It is widespread and it seems, dare I say it, that we are among the very lucky for not having any power problems.
These first couple or so were taken at the Elberta outlook. The Frankfort lighthouse is on the right
A shot from the Elberta outlook of the Frankfort Coast Guard Station
This picture was taken down below the Elberta lookout, right by the old Lifesaving Station
All these pictures and about 35 more are in the collection down below. Click on each of them to see them better.
Wasn’t that amazing?
