Exciting news, the Sleeping Bear Birding Trail (SBBT) is now open. All along M-22 from Manistee, past the Wayfarer, through the dunes and to Traverse City – all 123 miles, there are 34 recommended birding sites. This new trail is “Internet driven” it utilizes ebird” and there is an app for our smart phones but I haven’t been able to find it yet 😦
A number of entities were involved in the creation of the trail. Namely with the Michigan Audubon Society, the Leelanau Conservancy as well as the National Lakeshore
