Lake Michigan and Dinner

Pictures today of Lake Michigan “behaving” a little more active than it has been in the last few weeks

As usual, at the end of Grace Road.

and right. With a good view of the Frankfort Lighthouse

Someone had a nice fire last night

That’s Tina Noffsinger waving. She was on her way to Frankfort – it’s the annual Twilight Sale in town.
Great deals to be had all over the place including at Hull’s Clothing

And then I went home and made my dinner

Tomato, Eggplant and Brussels Sprouts with a little lemon juice and salt to taste. Yummmers

Blueberry Adventures

Today was a fun day.  But it really started 2 days ago when Shari from cottage 9 and two of her boys and I went to pick blueberries in Honor off of Dead Stream Road.  We had a great time and picked quite a few quarts of the most beautiful berries.  They were so ripe and full, they almost jumped into our jugs.
After we came home, I baked a blueberry pie for Shari and her family 😉

Today I wanted to show Tammy, Nate and Helena, from cottage 4, a blueberry patch a lot closer to the Wayfarer than going into Honor.  I went over to cottage 9 and asked Shari’s boys if they wanted to come along and they did. Yay.
I was sure that I knew how to get there via my shortcut.   Ummmmmmm, I missed a turn and we drove around “sightseeing” for a while until my brain engaged and I figured out how to find the berries patch.

After we came home, I baked a blueberry pie for my family 😉

Yummm.

This is a great summer with some fantastic guests and more fantastic guests to come. Looking forward to quite a few old Wayfarer friends to come still

Sunset and Stairs

Another progress report from the stairway to the beach.

It seems now, that the stairs are only maybe 3/4 done.  Meaning, they are longer than anyone had imagined.  So, we keep watching our men go off to work on them EVERY afternoon (since the first of June).
I feel so bad and yet in my mind I am pushing for more work and faster work.  I think the guys are also very tired of building this thing.  After all, all of them are in their mid to late 50’s and the only young one in the bunch is our Tyler at 18.

Again today, I drove  up to the end of Grace Road to see how far the stairs are. The railings are up!  But so many more steps are needed to get to the bottom of the beach.

I’ll post the pictures in the order that I took them.

Down there is Bill Soper (a local stone mason) with his dog. They went for a swim and then a walk – at 8:45 this evening!

Ummmm, I forgot to take pictures of the stairs but there wasn’t anything new to show you. The railings are up on the first part of the stairs.
