I love bringing my own shopping bags when buying groceries. As you know, I have a collection of them and it is growing.
Me thinks that everyone should have a cool bag to take shopping. I ordered you some. You can purchase them for $ 2,50 from me 🙂
I put one in Rusty and Beth’s cottage. They are coming today. And since they felt slighted a couple of weeks ago and didn’t get the tp they thought they should have, I stuffed said bag with a 6-pack 😉
This morning at 10 – Sandhill cranes in the field across the street…
Ah yes, an innkeeper’s life can have it’s bucolic moments as well 🙂
Those stairs are getting longer and longer. I could not help taking some pictures for you today because Lake Michigan was very active today.
Click on the small pictures 😉
You can imagine that I make a lot of beds and with that comes a like or dislike for the comforters we use. My favorite, of course, would be linen duvet covers like I use here at home but my linen service does not offer these. Back to my comforters, there is one style in particular that I have had since the dinosaurs roamed the earth – at least 10 years. It’s a Martha Stewart quilt. I have 6 of them. They have been washed so many times that the fabric is wearing thin and has broken and torn all over the place, on all of them. If I were to fix the tears, I would only create new ones, so I don’t even try. Yet I cannot help myself, I put the quilts on the beds anyway. Usually they go on the beds of guests that I know very well and to whom I can explain why that comforter is on their bed
Because it has this perfect weight
it feels really comfy!
So, should you find this comforter in your cottage and on your bed, just go with it, you could not be more comfortable sleeping under that thing.
See, it’s this sea-foam green with white stylized flowers. It goes perfectly with the curtains and the pictures on the wall
without being matchy-matchy…
I wanted to show you the crowded beach here on Grace Road.
Can you believe the crowds? 2 whole girls, heehee
The Stairs, one more deck, a few more steps and then…
Michael Angelo, did you paint the sky?
It is so dry and hot this summer, my flower boxes, even with the help of twice daily watering, are having a tough time making me happy. So today, for the first time this season, I bought Miracle Grow 😯
My plan was to keep my flowers fed with the help of a daily dose of coffee grounds. That actually works very well but now my flowers are pooped.
Long story short, I went into Frankfort to the Hardware store on Main Street and got the stuff. One never goes into Frankfort without making the loop at the end of Main Street.
The beach was deserted this morning at 9:30. Some birds were at the water’s edge and there were 2 guys playing with their paddle boards
Grey vs. green and shady
The beach is only about 600 yards away and the stairs are really almost done. Yay
The stairs to the beach at the end of Grace Road are taking shape. The estimate is that all the work should be done by the end of July.
I am crossing my fingers and will be happy if the men are done working on the project by mid August 😉
There is the top landing which is big enough to hold a tiki bar. A fun idea, especially since it would make the neighbors on the left side mad. This deck is big enough for a few people to bring folding chairs and watch the sunset.
These special neighbors took the township to court to halt the building of said stairs. Work stopped for a while but is in full swing again.
The neighbors lost the case! – tra-la-la-laaaa-laaaaaaaaa!!!!!
The second landing is done…
The Frankfort pier and lighthouse and a few fishing boats. It was a hazy, hot day that July 4, 2012.
A few ant size people are splashing in the water
I am bound and determined to organize a celebration for all the neighbors that finally have an easy way to get to the beach without eroding the dune each time they go down and up. Hooray
