The fishing boats are still wrapped up in their winter dress…
Not much longer and there will be boats all over the bay 🙂
Sheesh, I know that I have neglected your need to read and look at pictures of this beautiful place. Forgive me, I have been too busy to get here but I have some great pictures.
So, let me start with what I have been doing last weekend. I promised Marc to take him to Petoskey to see his girlfriend. On Saturday morning we started at 8 am. I was driving through Traverse City and took the wrong turn. We ended up on highway 37 instead of 31 and drove 18 miles through the most beautiful country side: Old Mission Peninsula. I made Marc take some pictures as I drove because we didn’t have any “time to waste” to get to Petoskey. Most of them didn’t turn out, but these are pretty good
Our trees are not that far along yet. Why is that? I was further north…
Finally we made it to Petoskey and there we were surprised as to how busy it was already up there.
The stores were practically stuffed with customers, so were the restaurants and streets.
hehe, now that I look at those pictures, it sure doesn’t look like it was busy. These were taken around 11 am – too early for people 🙂
hmm, I walked through alleys, I like looking at these old houses from the backside and there I discovered this unshakable little tree that wouldn’t stop producing leaves and flowers
Isn’t that amazing?
Shelley, I am sorry 😦
High above the beach looking to the north west – the Frankfort harbor and lighthouse
and then looking west
looking south toward Arcadia
And as I was looking around and sniffing the air, there came the familiar Coast Guard helicopter for a maneuver
Yup, summer is on it’s way 🙂
I have totally new news!
Frankfort is losing a breakfast spot and gaining a shnazzy new restaurant.
Huge remodel is on the way and it was whispered that
Betsie Bay Furniture
will take care of the interior decorating.
That means that the restaurant not only serves up a feast for your tummy, it’s also a feast for your eyes.
I have a feeling this is the last we’ll see of that exterior.
I was never keen on it, somehow looks like something that was supposed
to be in Gaylord’s Alpine inspired neighborhood.
I, for one, cannot wait to eat there at the Bayview Grille.
Hold on to your seats people — there will be outdoor seating
I know more about the building next door to this one
but I don’t know if I am allowed to tell you yet.
Some people commented more than once. Everyone got an entry for every comment they made!
After writing the names of everyone who commented on
a piece of paper…
I cut them out,
found a hat and put the names into the hat
Mike pulled the name out of the hat…………….I am out of breath
we have a winner:
Forget the fake stuff. No matter how much money you spend at any given store for aroma, you can’t get it right unless you actually bake that apple pie, wash that white laundry or have those flowers in the house. You must walk through the meadows and along the shorelines to smell the meadow-y or the beach-y smell we all love. Anything else is a waste of money. I can’t wait to drive through the cherry orchards, the apple orchards, through the woods to get my very own aromatherapy.
Go outside people and enjoy what you have. And if you live where there’s nothing good to smell,
come up here to Benzie County and stay with me at the Wayfarer.
But don’t come into my kitchen because my nose just discovered a rotten lemon, blech!
Subliminal message? 😆
And here are some guests sitting down, smelling the proverbial roses,
enjoying some vino and cheese.
That’s how you relax!
I took a first look inside the cottages today and I must say, I am getting excited about having people come and stay next week.
