She texted me this evening:
“Hey do u really need me 2mrw bc i dont feel like working i am just 2 tired if u really absolutly need me i will come in”
(not my spelling, see the quotation marks?)
I told her ” if you can’t come in, I need to get someone else to do the job
and I might have to give that new person the job for good.
She quickly agreed to come and do what needs doing.
Phew, disaster averted. I am glad my bluff worked. I have no idea where there is anyone else at this time in the season who is free to come and work.

Good mornin’ to you too missy. It’s month end and I’m drowning in paperwork. I am ready for summer to be over.
Me too, sort of. I am expecting a most fun group to stay this week until Ivanka comes to visit. So, I have some fun still to come.

yes she was and I had a nice talk with her this morning. And then I gave her a raise, because she really does a nice job.
Now not only do I want to visit but I want to work for you too! A raise! Such a good woman you are.
It is hard work and she’s such a tiny, little thing. It makes me feel better.
