I just got the official email and I thought it would be nice to pass it along.
The theater was built in the early 20th century and until now had fallen into disrepair. Theater-goers would not go there for the viewing pleasure, to be sure. People came out of nostalgic reasons. It was sort of difficult to even see the movie with the old equipment. For the kids it was/is a treat, because they could and would go to the movies and meet with their friends without the parents – feeling just a bit more grown up than usual. Many a Saturday night, during the summer, when the movie is over, you can see hoards of kids waiting for the parents to come and pick them up – but not before the traditional the trip across the street to the ~Cool Spot~ for ice cream.
I am posting the entire mail because it also give you a program of which movies they have lined up for all of us. A visit to Frankfort should include a visit to the Theater
