Summer Solstice Festival

On the third weekend of June, for the last 6 or 7 years (could be even more), there has been a really wonderful festival in Elberta’s Waterfront Park.

The Summer Solstice Festival

It is plain fantastic.  There is so much going on in that beautiful park. Something to do for every age.  They have games and entertainment for the little people. Great bands playing. One for the teens alone.  A beer garden for the adults, arts, crafts, the local restaurants are all out in force in tents, cooking for and feeding everyone.  Dancing until 1 am.

And at the  end of the day, when it finally gets dark,  the Grand Finale, the Grand Daddy of all Finales –

The Fireworks!!

One of our most welcome guests/friend, Kay Morse, will bring her cute husband Don who puts on the most amazing fireworks show that you can imagine.  It rivals what Disney does every night.  Nothing short of  fantastic. A must see for sure and I am not kidding.
We have a bunch of guests booking in every year who wouldn’t dream of missing  this festival and those fireworks.

Official information can be found on this website

I usually don’t get to go until the fireworks.  The only time I went during the day was the very first festival.  It was unbelievable.  It felt like a big block party.

Going to community festivals is one of my most favorite and fun things to do. The food, the music, the community atmosphere! This one looks like it will be alot of fun. I just wish it was closer. I hope you’ll report on it. Have a great weekend Iris!

  2. Oh my goodness, it sounds like it will be a perfectly lovely event, its what makes towns like Elberta so charismatic.
