Wanted: Chicken Herder

Trying to train chickens to stay where we want them to graze is like herding cats. LOL

These chicks need to learn to stay away from the cottages. I can imagine guests not being as fond of their company as Mike and I are.

Holy cow! I have been running around all day, trying to teach them with my “herding stick” – a wooden yardstick that gently guides them back where they belong.

Jimmy, my little friend who comes every year a few times, has the job but he is not always here. I need a little person to fill in for him. The pay is pretty good, just ask Jimmy who leaves here every trip with a check from the Wayfarer for his efforts to keep the birdbath in the driveway.

Any kids staying with us this summer, apply PLEASE,  heehee

The little guy in the picture is Jimmy, the big guy is Joey his older brother.

  1. The chickens are always free to stay in cabin 9 with Jimmy. He is counting down the days until we come and hoping to add a week or 2 soon!
